Dog Clothes and Maternity Clothes

Okay, okay. So they're not DOG clothes. They're MY clothes.
But Zoe had it coming!
She's too gentle and fun-loving for her own good.
She hardly put up a struggle. And when I saw how freakin' cute she looked, I just HAD to take a picture.
FYI: I asked Brian's permission to post a half-naked picture of him with our dog on my blog.
So, yes, he knows.

This would be my first maternity clothing purchase. If I may say so myself, this top is pretty spiffy. I think I just may dress better as a pregnant woman than a non-pregnant woman.
I wonder if this baby has given me super powers.
The kind that enhance my shopping capability.

Out and About in Alaska

This is what Alaska looks like during what we call "The Thaw."
When I say we, I mean residents of Alaska. The snow melts and there are puddles EVERYWHERE. Consequently, this basketball court was flooded. You might be thinking, "Oh! Poor Alaskan kids! Now they can't play basketball." But keep in mind that this court has been under FEET of ice and snow for at least six months. I'm a sure a little water doesn't stop them from playing.

Brian is standing on a big block of wood meant to keep cars out of the park. Nothing fancy, just fun.

This is a nothing special water tower. But I didn't grow up around these, so they're still cool to me!

BabyMania

For those of you who know me, you know how overzealous I tend to be in my planning. I've been "planning" for a baby since I was eight years old. Being a mom has been my greatest aspiration, thanks to the inspiration that is my Mom. When we found out that we indeed ARE pregnant, my planning bug got kicked into overdrive. That is exactly why at nine weeks along, we have a crib...
set up and filled with things I've been gathering and things we just HAD to rush out and buy. I'm pretty sure this kid will want for nothing.

This picture is the left side of the crib. As you can see, we have two packs of child-size hangers, a positioning sleeper, a seasonal cover for a carrying car seat, a pack of onesies, a crib sheet, a teething blanket (Brian picked this out, simply because he thought the teddy bear was TOO cute), a car seat protector, a pack of wipes and diapers, and a blanket from my childhood.

This is a picture of the right side of the crib. Here we have a boppy, a home health kit, spoons, a teether, and a teddy bear that Deah (My mom) gave me, but I thought it was so cute stuck in the boppy, so I left it there.

And now the full view of the crib. The blanket is one this baby's Deah made a long time ago. Just needs binding, and I'll be attempting that! I even tried out the mattress in the store! Sometimes, I think I'm too kooky for my own good. Luckily, Brian takes all my zaniness in stride. You might not think this is overboard (Probably because you know me.) but we're only nine weeks along. Can you imagine what might occur over the next seven months?

Pictures of Zoe and my big belly!

The reason I look so scared in my belly picture is that it HURTS to hold it in. Which is what I'm doing in that particular picture. Unfortunately for my viewing public, I'm not ready or willing to post the pictures of my "relaxed" pregnant belly. I look like I'm due in JUNE!
