Understanding Laura

I am a crunchy oddball with too many ideas and too little time. Do you get me now?

Within Sight

Tonight is Brian's last night on the mid-shift (6pm-6am) and I couldn't be more thrilled. Kellie was awake from midnight until 4 am - reminding me every ten minutes that she couldn't sleep. Arggh. I'm wishing I had my hubby here tonight. We are all three very crabby girls!

Kellie, Delia, and I went swimming today. Kellie is such an awesome little swimmer and loves to pretend she's Ariel the Little Mermaid in the water. I can remember pretending the exact same thing as a kid. Brings a smile to my face to hear her version of Ariel's singing when she loses her voice to Ursula.

Delia hops along in her little floatie, her feet touching the bottom of the 18 inch kiddie pool. She is absolutely thrilled with her autonomy. I'm not entirely sure if it's because of her freedom in the pool or not - but she has begun standing unassisted for 5-10 seconds at a time! I don't think I'm ready for this! She's growing out of babyhood faster than I can keep up with. She's added a few new words to her vocabulary -
Ucka (Yucka - don't touch that, dirty diapers, dirty rock, you get the idea)
Danjah (Danger - don't touch that, be careful, step back)
Airgo? (Where'd it go? - when things disappear from her hands (thanks big sis!) or she sees me searching for something)

Kellie noticed a roll of princess wrapping paper in the basement and insisted we make a gift for her cousins. So, I gave her four sheets of paper and some art supplies. She created 4 very different pictures for each Bagley cousin. She wrote their names on each paper. Then she helped me peel and break crayons to make "magic crayons." She wrapped the box of magic crayons and came with me to the post office to mail it to the Bagley cousins. The cousins should be getting the box sometime soon if they haven't gotten it already. ;)

I'm very grateful for all the love and support I have been blessed with in my life. Particularly in the form of Grandparents. Thank you for helping me through this surprisingly challenging journey. I hope to one day repay you all.
